John Ramsey is the Principal of Ramsey Partners, LLC, a bank consulting firm specializing in compensation consulting, executive benefits consulting and BOLI consulting. Founded in February, 2001, Ramsey Partners works with community banks throughout the country in assisting them with various issues affecting executive retention, recruitment and assisting senior management in meeting shareholder’s interests. Ramsey Partners also assists corporations in these same areas.
John began his career in 1984 with The Equitable in New York City where he worked for six years in corporate reporting, government relations and variable product development.
In 1990, John graduated from New York Law School and took a position in the prestigious Executive Management Training Program with Mutual of New York. After a successful tenure as a Producer (MDRT) and Agency Staff Attorney, he was appointed Senior Sales Manager to the top ranking MONY Pittsburgh Agency, John’s hometown.
In 1994, Berkshire Life appointed John as the General Agent of its Pittsburgh office where he built a “scratch” agency. The Berkshire-Ramsey Group specialized in estate planning, pensions and business insurance planning.
In 1997, John Hancock appointed John as the head of its Youngstown Agency. In the following years the agency was nationally recognized as a GAMA Bronze Agency and a Leading John Hancock Citation Agency.
John is married for over twenty years to Laura Ramsey and they currently reside in Salem, OH with their three children—Gordon, Elizabeth and Olivia. John and Laura are amateur gourmet cooks and passionately try to work off the calories at Laura’s Yoga Studio (Om Shanti Yoga Center) and working out.
